hi, i’m kate.
i’m an nyc-based composer, writer, and performer, 2026 princess grace award winner, and UMD arts for all artist-in-residence.
my solo show where we meet—a piece about quantum physics, love, and loss— will premiere off-broadway at ars nova as part of under the radar festival january 2027. this show has been developed at the cell theater, ANTFest, nyu, musical theater factory, ars nova maker’s lab, and ca+mp at upper jay arts center. it is a two-time namt frank young grant recipient and finalist for the richard rodgers award and orchard project audio lab.
my debut album heaven on earth is out now. i made it in collaboration with producer jake crocker, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. our first song, timmy chalamet, was featured in billboard, ny post, and entertainment tonight, PIX 11 news, out front mag and more. listen to heaven on earth here.
this fall 2026, i am the arts for all artist in residence at the university of maryland, where i am on faculty in the physics department teaching a class called “quantum physics and art” in collaboration with the joint quantum institute.
i am a resident artist at ars nova and project 14c, and an inaugural nyu center for ballet and the arts/national sawdust toulmin creator. past residencies and fellowships include: john stuart mill fellow at the mercatus institute, good hart artist residency, the watermill center, the american academy in berlin, the center at west park.
